Sometimes those purl stitches look too good to leave on the inside of a cowl. Add in some movement with cables and you have yourself one happening cowl!

This cowl can be worn loose or it is long enough to wrap around.

Knit with 4.5mm/US 7 needles the gauge is approx. 20 stitches and 30 rows for 10 cm in stockinette.

This pattern has been test knit and edited.

This cowl is suitable for all different colourways – a solid colourway will highlight the cables; a variegated or self-striping yarn is going to play up the difference between the purls and knits. Subtle or wild, you choose!

If you want a longer cowl, cast on extra stitches in groups of 32. Make sure to take in to consideration you will need more yarn.
