This pattern allows you to create a very customized and well fitting knee sock that maintains an interesting and colorful pattern up the leg. If you’re not feeling up to knee socks, the toe-up pattern can also be knit to any length sock. The color work is accomplished by slipped stitches and requires absolutely no skill or experience with Fair Isle or other multi-stranded techniques. You just knit one color at a time, and slip stitches from the row below as needed to create the color design. They are rapid to knit with excellent results and better stretch than other multi-color techniques. I consider this pattern an adventurous beginner or early intermediate design. It requires knowledge of short row techniques, increases, decreases, and following a simple slip stitch pattern.
