This hat has a cute geometric diamonds harlequin pattern and is knitted with DK-weight yarn on a pair of 4mm/US6 dubble pointed needles. If you prefer knitting with circular needles, that would be just fine too.

Materials:
• Any brand of DK/8 ply yarn (green) Color A
• Any brand of DK/8 ply yarn (dark pink) Color B
• Any brand of DK/8 ply yarn (light pink) Color C
• Circular needle or a set of double pointed needles size 4mm/US6
• Tapestry needle to weave in the ends when finished
• Pompom maker 4,5cm/1.8inches (optional)

You can make the hat in whatever color you feel for.
I picked some leftover DK/8 ply yarn out of my stash, you could do the same if you’re on a yarn diet. Use colours with a lot of contrast, so that the geometrical pattern will pop out! :)
You need about 15 grams/0.5 ounces of each colour.

The hat is about 20cm/7.5inches in length and is suitable for a head circumference from 52cm/20.5inches to 59cm/23inches (fits most adults).

For the pompom I used a 4,5cm/1.8inches pompom maker. If you don’t have one, you can use a fork or two pieces of carbon paper to make a pompom. On YouTube are many tutorials on how to make a pompom.

The hat is knitted from the bottom to the top.

If you like a longer brim, just add some extra rows till you reach your desired length.

If you know how to knit in the round and know how to change colors in a row (stranded knitting), you can easily knit this hat
