Diamonds in the Rough is an 18-inch round doily made in size 10 cotton thread with a 1.5 mm hook. It takes approximately 400-450 yards of thread. There are 35 rounds. The diamonds graduate in size, small to the center with large on the outside. The “rough” is created with 4 dc popcorn stitches around the perimeter of each diamond. There is another diamond-in-a-diamond on the largest size diamonds. It is done with Front Post Triple Crochets. Simple chain loops allow the diamonds to really shine.
