With a grateful nod to Paul Simon, I call these socks Diamonds on the Soles of Her Socks. If you are new to color-work, this is a great first-time pattern. It works up fast, and it has an easy colorwork design. I use the Sweet Tomato Heel for an adjustable and great fit. No heel flaps or gussets! And the colorwork can continue, uninterrupted, through the instep.
Because the sock is stranded, it has double the wooly warmth wanted in a handmade sock. Give it a try. I bet you will love knitting stranded socks!
