Pattern

Diana is a crescent-shaped shawl with a broad center. Named after the goddess of wild animals and the hunt, Diana is Hayley’s first open-lace design

Skill Level
Advanced beginner. Charts only. Pattern does not include row-by-row written instruction. All the WS rows are all-purl rows inside the edge stitches except for a few rows.

Yarns
Lace- and heavy-lace-weight yarns are suitable. Finished dimensions may be adjusted by using different yarn weight and needle size to achieve varying gauges.

Gauge
Gauge isn’t important but will determine the final size of the shawl. With an open-lace design, knitters may go up or down a needle size or two to easily achieve different sizes and results.

Tools
Circular needles in size US4/3.5mm, US5/3.75mm, US6/4mm, and US7/4.5mm depending on your knitting tension, crochet hook, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needle, T-pins, and blocking wire(s) and mat (optional).

Beads
Size 6 or 8 rounds for lace (800m+/100g) and heavy lace weight (500-600m/100g). Bead all or just some of these charts:

Chart D 9 beads
Chart E 27 beads
Chart F 86 beads
Chart G 114 beads
Chart H 204 beads
Chart I 213 beads
Last row 239 beads
