Dinner Party at #36 Shawl
This is an exclusive pattern for yarnpeople Issue 2 Brioche+, and this shawl was the basis for us choosing Brioche + as the motif and Multilingualism & Multiculturalism as the theme for Issue 2.
This rectangular shawl was inspired by my dining room table. It uses 3 colours of yarn in 4 alternating sections: garter stitch (with added short rows), 3-colour tuck stitch, 2-colour tuck stitch, and eyelet. The effect is subtle but interesting, and the combo of garter stitch plus tuck stitch creates a squishy but practical shawl.
(The Tuck Stitch is #36 from Nancy Marchant’s book Tuck Stitches.)
Other Notes:
Gauge is not important; however, it will affect the finished size and yardage need for this project. Swatching for how the colours look together in the 3-colour tuck stitch section is recommended.
