Dino Sox can be knitted in various ways. You can either knit fully grown socks or ancle socks with spikes from the toes up to the cuffs. Both variations might feel uncomfortable in very tight shoes. Hence, I have created a third version in with a footpart free of spikes.
If you are using a fast moving gradient like Schoppel’s Zauberball, you can knit both socks and the spikes with the same yarn. Otherwise you can knit two identical socks and add the spikes in a contrasting color or knit “vice-versa” socks with two different colors that go well together. A good chance to use 1,75oz/50g skeins.

The Dino Sox presented in the images are knitted with Dibadu Funnies; Twirly Sock: Grüntal and Megalila; Schoppel Zauberball Crazy Frische Fische and Colinette Jitterbug Monét and Cherry.

Dino Sox are knitted toe-up using magic loop. If this is your first attempt at knitting socks from the toe up, this pattern will guide you through all the steps with ample photo tutorials. All instructions are given in written and charted form. Apart from the three variations to choose from you can either knit your Dino Sox over 60 or over 64 stitches.
