Dinomite Cowl

This simple cowl is inspired by the iconic Crystal Palace dinosaurs that were made in 1854 by the sculptor Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins. The dinosaurs were based on the latest scientific knowledge at the time, although by today’s standards they are a wildly inaccurate representation of dinosaurs. Despite this I love them dearly and they hold a special place in my heart.

All the money made from this pattern will be donated to Friends of Crystal Palace Dinosaurs who are helping in the conservation of these amazing sculptures.

Knitted in pattern after blocking.

If your gauge is a little off that won’t matter much as long as the cowl will fit over your head.

Yarn
100g of fingering/4 ply weight yarn.
Although, if you make the cowl longer or wider than described you might need more yarn.

The sample shown is knitted in:
Dystopic Fibre
75% merino wool and 25% nylon in the colour way prehistoric and used 80g/340 meters of yarn following the pattern instructions.

Notions
1 x 3.00mm 60 cm circular needles, the pattern can be worked on longer circular needles using the magic loop method.
1 x stitch marker
1 x tapestry needle for weaving in ends
