Inspired by holiday treats and baking, Dipped in Chocolate is an asymmetrical, triangular shawl consisting of garter stitch, slipped stitches and a simple lace pattern that is only worked on the right side rows. Only one color is worked per row for the slipped stitch pattern. Instructions for the lace pattern are both written and charted.

Along with the shawl pattern, there is a recipe for my great Aunt’s Maraschino Cherry Cookies (pictured at right). And, if you aren’t a fan of red dye (which I’m not a huge fan, but I do “cheat” during the holidays), there is an option for making the recipe with dried cherries.
