This pattern was written to create my favorite cowl shape, a large cowl that can be worn over either one or both shoulders. This version uses DK weight yarn and adds a spiral detail. See “Embracing the Random Cowl” for my fingering weight version. If you have more yarn, you could continue the pattern to make a cone-shaped poncho. See my “Starry Night Poncho” for another option. Yup. Apparently, I like wearing cone shapes. I love that they stay on with no fuss.

Pattern is FREE with yarn purchase from my online store (or at my brick and mortar LYS, of course).
This pattern was written to pair perfectly with the fabulous ombre speckled kits I dyed up in merino / silk DK yarn. You could also use varying amounts of any DK weight yarn.
