DK Thatch is a textured, haversack style, felted woolen satchel that is knit flat from base, then joined and worked in the round from bottom to top. Felting is utilized to thicken the textures and increase the density of the woolen fabric for a chic, trendy look. The textured flap is knit flat and felted at the same time as the satchel, then attached in finishing and assembling the satchel. The DK Thatch design incorporates various stitches to create texture and contrast; utilizing an elongated Moss stitch, a 2/2 Ribbing, and the Stockinette Stitch.

Finishing: new or recycled leather strap and embellishment (s).

The DK Thatch design was inspired by the thatching process, which consists of layering vegetation in construction of a thatched surface or covering, often made with straw, rushes, or reeds.
