Dohne (do-knee).

Wrap yourself in this warm and cozy shawl and feel hugged by the Dohne sheep.

A collaboration with Blacker Yarns.

Dohne is worked flat from the right tip to the left edge with a built-in I-cord edge. Although it looks like cables, there is not one cable involved in the textured stitch pattern.

There are 2 versions of this shawl: texture & garter and texture only. The texture is quite addictive and you won’t be the only one feeling a little sad when binding off.

The pattern is fully written and charted row by row until the first repeat of adding garter stitches to the shawl is done.

Yarn
Blacker Swan, Falkland Islands Wool DK (100% Pure New Wool), 50 gr-119yds/110m). A scrumptious, soft and smooth yarn.

Samples shown in color: Stone.
Version 1, texture & garter: 7 balls, 809yds/740m used.
Version 2, texture only: 8 balls, 951yds/870m used (9 balls is recommended).

Or any DK/Worsted weight yarn:
Version 1: approx. 787-875yds (720-800m).
Version 2: approx. 951/1060yds (870-970m).

Materials
US 7 (4.50 mm) 24” (60 cm) circular or straight needles.
Stitch markers, tapestry needle.

Gauge
One texture pattern repeat (12 stitches x 8 rows), blocked = 2.17” x 1.18” (5.5 x 3 cm).
Garter stitch (17 stitches x 36 rows), blocked = 4” x 4” (10 x 10 cm).
Gauge is not crucial at all but will affect final size and yardage.

Version 2: approx. 76.8” (195 cm) wingspan along top edge x 28.7“ (73 cm) width.
