Meet Ruby, a lovely doll I designed with love and attention to all the details such as fabulous styled hair, balloon red dress, delicate heart appliques and romantic headband made of daises…

Ruby likes spring and flowers, long barefoot walks and afternoon outdoor parties. She loves spending time with her friends drinking jasmine green tea in a fragrant garden. Her favorite perfume smells like a colorful bouquet of flowers… She is very often sleepy but even then she is a real beauty!

You can also choose whether to make a smaller or a larger version of Ruby.
The smaller one is worked with a 2 mm crochet hook and the cotton yarn suitable for a 3 mm hook. In this way amigurumi dolls look more beautiful and neat without any holes in the work.
If you prefer larger dolls, work with the same yarn but change the size of the hook and go with a 3 mm crochet hook. Keep in mind that the tension will be slightly looser.

There are also two options in this pattern regarding the eyes:
the safety eye option with the touch of embroidery and the embroidered sleepy eye option. The pattern includes detailed explanations for the both.

I crocheted Ruby using stitches in shape of V.

The smaller version of the doll is approx. 35 cm (14 inches), made with 2 mm crochet hook.
The bigger version of the doll is approx. 42 cm (16,5 inches), made with 3 mm crochet hook.

MATERIALS:

• 2 mm crochet hook (or 3 mm crochet hook/optional)
• 0.95 mm crochet hook for delicate heart appliques
• 100% cotton yarn (sport weight) suitable for 3 mm crochet hook in: white 5 g, beige 38 g, red 28 g, brown 24 g
• Small amount of 100% cotton yarn suitable for 0.95 mm crochet hook in white and yellow for the hearts and flowers
• Embroidery threads for the eyes in black, white and brown (optional)
• 8 mm safety eye (optional)
• Stuffing
• Glue (optional)
• Sewing or tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Crochet pins and markers
• Plastic cake pop stick approx. 14 cm (5,5 inches) long.
• Size: approx. 35 cm (14 inches) when made with indicated yarn (sport weight 100% cotton yarn) and 2 mm crochet hook or 42 cm (16,5 inches) when made with 3 mm crochet hook and the same yarn.
