The Doll’s Triangular Lace Shawl is worked flat from the top down and the center out in one piece. A simple lace repeat can be adjusted to make the shawl larger or smaller, and a slightly ruffled border finishes it.

Yarn: You will need approximately 70 yards of a sport-weight wool and approximately 30 yards of a fingering-weight wool to duplicate the pictured shawl. However, the shawl will work with almost any yarn weight and fiber. (Pictured: Jo-Ann Sensations Kashmira in Cream – sport, 1 skein / 100g / 284 yards, 100% wool; and Red Heart Heart & Sole in Ivory -- fingering, 1 skein / 50g / 213 yards, 70% wool / 30% nylon)

Supplies:

  • US size 7 needles
  • stitch marker (optional)
  • tapestry needle

Gauge: Not particularly important.

Finished Measurements: Finished shawl will measure approximately 8 inches down the center and approximately 16 inches tip-to-tip. It is intended to fit an 18” doll such as the American Girl doll. Instructions for adjusting the size are included.

This is the pattern for Week Thirty-Four of Pattern a Week at Running Jack Knits.
