This blanket would be very suitable for a baby, child or adult. The illusion picture is the same size as my other baby blankets but it could have a wide border to make a blanket any size you want. (See this example of an illusion with a wide border.)

The blanket in the photos used 600 metres in each of two colours. I used Stylecraft Special DK in Duck Egg and Petrol. You would need more for a wider border. You can use any yarn. A different thickness might change the overall size.

Illusion knitting is very easy to do. If you can knit stripes you can do it. When you look straight at the knitting you only see the stripes. The picture is revealed when you look from an angle.

The pattern includes three different versions of the chart - one on a single page, another split into four sections and the third for use on hand-held devices.
