This dragon hand puppet is super for storytelling play. Donald is knitted in garter stitch, and once you have made the basic puppet, sew on the eyeballs, ears, nostrils and scales and tongue.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the dragon is knitted in acrylic yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).

NEEDLES
A pair of 5mm single pointed knitting needles (US 8).

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus Aran; worsted weight; 100% acrylic; up to 25g in each colour.

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, a little toy filling for the eyeballs, buttons for eyes, a stitch holder and stitch markers.

SIZES
One size only - to fit an adult’s hand.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knit, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
