Donna Skirt
The Donna Skirt is a flowy, romantic skirt knitted in sections with purl stripes and ruffles. The skirt is knitted from the top down, beginning with an elastic waistband, and the length is fully adjustable.
Sizes: 1, 2, 3 (4, 5, 6) {7, 8, 9}
Waist circumference of the skirt: approx. 47½, 57½, 67½ (77½, 87½, 97½) {107½, 117½, 127½} cm.
The hip circumference of the dress will be double the waist circumference for all sizes.
To fit a waist circumference of: approx. 57½-67½, 67½-77½, 77½-87½ (87½-97½, 97½-107½, 107½-117½) {117½-127½, 127½-137½, 137½-147½} cm.
Intended negative ease: 10-20 cm. This means that you should choose a size with a waist circumference 10-20 cm SMALLER than your actual waist circumference.
Length: adjustable, but yarn estimates are based on a length of 90 cm including the folded waistband.
Gauge: 29 sts x 32 rows in stockinette on 3,5 mm needles after washing and blocking.
Keep in mind that the weight of the skirt will stretch out the gauge a bit compared to a normal gauge swatch. For instance, my gauge swatch after washing and blocking measured 28 sts x 36 rows.
Recommended needles: 3,5 mm circular needles (60/80 cm and 100/120 cm).
Recommended yarn: 350, 450, 500 (550, 650, 750) {850, 900, 950} g of Filcolana Merci (50 g = 200 m).
This amount is based on a length of 90 cm. If you want to make your skirt longer, get more yarn. If you want to make it shorter, get less.
Additional materials: an elastic band with a width of 2,5 cm and some stitch markers (1 for BOR and 1 additional marker).
