Because who doesn’t love donuts?

This is a modification of the basic donut pattern, which is worked as a sphere with the ends cut off. Then that gets sewn and stuffed from the center. This can get kind of awkward, especially at the finishing stage, so I came up with a different way.

First, instead of working a sphere, work the bottom half as before, but join the top half to the center. Which turns the thing inside out, so to speak. Then, because of attaching the top and bottom half on the outside (by crocheting them together, not sewing them), a little lip forms at the join. Which kind of makes it look like the frosting is on top of the donut.

No yarn suggestions are given as this is a small enough project to use leftover yarn. Also, no gauge is given because size isn’t really an issue. This final donut is a little over 4 inches in diameter, but it could easily go smaller with a lighter weight yarn or larger with a bulkier yarn. Feel free to experiment.
