Inspiration
This design is inspired by beautiful doors in the church in Täby Kyrkby, Sweden. This church is also famous for “Death playing chess” painting by Albertus Pictor.

Level: Intermediate

Techniques

  • Knitting in the round
  • Twisted rib including decreases
  • Increase and decrease in purl
  • Making bobbles

Size: Medium and Large

Recommended yarn
Wool yarn 350-400 m in 100 g. It can be a combination of a thin wool thread and one thread of mohair in the same color.
I recommend to use one tonal yarn to emphasize the graphic pattern, multicolored yarn might hide it.
Size Medium - 80 g
Size Large – 100 g

Gauge and needles
24 stitches and 33 rows in 10 cm.
I used needles 2.5 mm to reach the gauge, but I knit loosely. Please use needles that give the right gauge.
