SKILL LEVEL:

Beginner: This pattern is for those crocheters who are ready to combine basic stitches to create a simple filet crochet pattern. Skills/concepts include the option of learning foundational single crochet and beginning double crochet stitches.

Notes From the Designer:

The deep colors and bright shine of our Sparkle DK yarn inspired this stellar wrap. Simple double crochet and chain stitches create a filet crochet starburst motif. The star-forming region of 30 Doradus is one of the largest located close to the Milky Way. About 2,400 massive stars exist in the center of 30 Doradus, which is also known as the Tarantula Nebula.

To refine the edges, try replacing a foundation chain and single crochet base with foundation single crochet stitches. A video tutorial is available. Instead of starting double crochet rows with three chain stitches, which can leave a gap, use a no-turning-chain beginning double crochet stitch instead.
