Dörfchen Vestover C

A vest with a village motive embroidered on the front.

The pattern dates from a 1948 book which has been reprinted in 2012.

Sizes and instructions are original: You get a schematic drawing of the pattern pieces which you have to draw at the correct size. Then you choose whatever yarn and needle size you want, make a swatch in pattern, count your gauge and use this gauge to calculate the stitches needed.

Basic knowledge of this process and basic knitting knowledge is assumed. Calculating the amount of material needed is also up to you.

Train pattern comes charted, cables have a description and a drawing. Some other techniques are explained also.

Sizing has about the same width than modern German patterns, but is shorter.
