Are you looking for a quick-to-knit cotton sock for the Summer?

Look no further …. Dottie Sock is constructed from the ‘toe-up’, has a standard toe, semi-short row heel, heel flap and picot cuff.

This sock was knitted using 100g of DMC Natura ‘Just Cotton’ 4-ply in ‘Rose Layette’ N06.

Tension/Gauge is 8 stitches per inch measured over Stocking Stitch using 2.5 mm needles or 8 1/2 stitches per inch using 2.25 mm needles - so you can easily substitute your favourite cotton or sock 4-ply (fingering weight) yarn.

Dottie Sock will fit a foot circumference of 8” (20.5 cm) and 9” (23 cm), depending on the size of needle chosen - foot length is adjustable.

I really hope that you will enjoy my latest design - Dottie is my first ‘toe-up’ sock design using cotton yarn - I thought it was about time that I designed a sock for knitters who prefer using ‘toe-up’ construction.

The pattern has been written assuming that knitters will have previous experience of working a ‘closed-toe’ method of construction, wrapping stitches to work the short-row heel and Sewn Bind-Off to finish the sock.

Dottie Sock pattern is available - FREE- in my Ravelry Store.

(There are more photos of how the sock has been constructed on my Projects page.)

Happy knitting everyone :)

Don’t forget to post photos of your finished projects - I’d love to see them!
