The Dotty Cake hat is a fun to knit combination of herringbone braids and slip stitch dots. The crown is fairly flat, like that of a tam. The braids create sections, making the hat look like a layer cake!

The hat is knit in the round from the bottom up in worsted weight yarn. Only one color per round is used in the Dotty stitch sections. A video tutorial is available for the herringbone braids.

The hat is meant to fit with 1-3” negative ease; I’m wearing the larger 19” hat on my 22” head.

Smaller orange hat: 100 yards MC, 50 yards CC, shown in Malabrigo Worsted.
Larger white hat: 120 yards MC, 60 yards CC, shown in Chroma Worsted.
