One of the most iconic designs in the world of crochet is the raglan sweater. Its unique construction, characterized by its diagonal seams extending from the neck to the underarms, offers a flattering fit for all body types. I’m thrilled to introduce you to a modern take on this classic design, the Double Crochet Crop Raglan Sweater.

⭐️ I’m making a size S in this YouTube tutorial:

Notes

Work with 2 strands of yarn.

Foundation chain counts as row 1

It’s crocheted from top to bottom. You will start working around the neck in joined rounds (it’s a raglan style sweater, one piece, no sewing), leaving the holes for the sleeves/armholes, working on the body and finishing with the sleeves.

If you prefer a longer sweater, simply add additional rounds right after Round 2 in the body section. Ensure you have extra yarn on hand to accommodate the added length.

To achieve a longer sleeve, consider adding additional rounds right after completing Round 14/16/18. Remember to have sufficient yarn available for the extended length.

When you are making increases from round 2 to 20 (22, 24) you work the 1st dc of the increase of the previous round, then you work a V stitch in the ch 1 sp and then you skip the 2nd dc of the increase of the previous round and work in the next dc.
