Reducing plastic use from our daily routine can be overwhelming. In my own journey toward eliminating plastic from my routine, DIYing household items that are reusable and free of plastics is a fun way to take control of your plastic consumption.

This pattern uses Lily® Sugar’n Cream® Scrub Off yarn which has alternating sections of both soft and scrubby yarn, giving you a final product that has equal parts of each type of texture. Since the fiber is 100% cotton, even the scrubby portions are not rough on your hands, which I love! The two-panel construction will add more structure to your scrubber, and a small loop is added to hang dry your creation. Even better yet, you’ll construct two panels, the hanging loop, and join the panels all without having to sew, or even break your yarn before finishing!

This pattern can be easily sized to fit your needs, adapted with another cotton yarn to make a personal sponge for the bath or shower, or even left open at the top to hold a bar of soap!
