This Double Knit Mitt is the most versatile, double thick, convertible mitten with a twist of fun. It is a warm mitten that converts to a fingerless glove and back. There is no flap to flap around or try to snap.

It is easily knit on a mid gauge flatbed machine. Skills needed include mock ribbing, hung hem, e-wrap, and bind off. No ribber needed.

The size is easily adjusted by changing the number of rows in the hand portion. One 100 gm skein of DK weight yarn makes one pair. But add stripes, change colors for the lining, etc. to use up yarn you may already have.

Keep your hands warm while freeing your fingers and thumb to zip up your coat or answer your phone. Just push your fingers and your thumb. You now have access to your digits without removing the mitten to get there. Shake your hand and full coverage returns.

This pattern is a simple mitten…with a twist. It is self lined. It is easily embellished. Any loose ends can hide between layers.

Amaze and amuse your friends with your clever design.

Fun. Fast. Try it!
