This knitted baby blanket is an ideal gift for a newborn baby. It is square shaped and very easy to make. The crochet edge gives this project a vintage, yet classy look. Doudou is French and stands for safety blanket/toy/cloth, which guides the children through their whole baby- and toddlerhood (or even longer).

I used 5 balls of Drops Alpaca Silk (color A) and 4 balls of Rowan Fine Cotton Milk (color B) (I think this one is discontinued), but you can use any yarn that is Sport weight or gives you the gauge.
