Downtown Balaclava is a feminine and detailed balaclava with cables. It is an accessory that looks nice and keeps your head and neck warm.
Information about the balaclava:
Downtown Balaclava is knit top-down. You’ll begin by knitting a square, which will be the top of the balaclava. Then stitches are picked up along two sides and the balaclava is knit flat. Finally you’ll pick up stitches along the face opening, where you’ll knit a ribbing.
SIZES:
ONESIZE, but fits most adults and teenagers
MEASUREMENTS:
Width: 17 cm 6.5 inches, measured when the balaclava lies flat, including ribbing, as shown in the second picture on the front page
Height: 33 cm 13 inches
GAUGE:
28 stitches x 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 inches on a 4 mm US 6 needle, knit in the cable pattern, after wash
NEEDLE SIZE:
Circular needle 4 mm US 6, 60 cm 24 inches
Circular needle 3,5 mm US 5, 40 cm 15 inches
Extra needle/cable needle 4 mm US 6
MATERIALS:
50 g Pernilla from Filcolana (50 g = 175 m 190 yards) together with 50 g Tilia from Filcolana knit double stranded (25 g = 210 m 230 yards)
