This pattern starts simple and slowly becomes more complex, requiring beginner to intermediate skills. This is a non-reversible piece, worked using the iconic half-pi shawl formula originally created by Elizabeth Zimmerman. The pi shawl formula determines the number of stitches in the different sections of this pattern. Each section calls for exponential growth, and each section’s design feature is worked using the number of stitches available between markers.

An optional, easier ending has been included for beginner knitters.

This piece can be adjusted to your desired size. For reference, I am 5’3” and the pattern as written is sufficient to make this a wearable and comfortable piece. Additional instructions are included to extend the garment size.
The pattern consists of six sections, each separated by a limited number of increase rows.

If you use the Caron blossom cake, you may need about 1.3 skeins.
