A beautiful asymmetrical lace crochet shawl pattern that’s fun to make! A triangle crochet shawl with popcorn stitches.

It’s the third shawl of mine with dragon references. You could say it’s the last one in the trilogy (Nordic Dragon tail, Dragon Eyes and now Dragon Berries). It’s a repetitive pattern with a section of repeating rows. I’ve made the repeating section long enough so you don’t get bored along the way. The popcorn stitches are meant to look like magical dragon berries and the pompoms of the edge are to top it off with a whole extra framework of special berries. This is one special shawl with a little bit of everything!

SIZE AND YARN
I made mine with the Scheepjes Whirl, color ”Tasty Nom Nom” (fingering yarn, ~215 gram, 1000 meters) and half of a Scheepjes Whirlette, color Grappa (1 skein 100g, 455 meters). I used a 3.5 mm hook (E / 4 hook). This made my shawl 193 cm x 100 cm x 225 cm or 76 inches x 39 inches x 88.5 inches.

Depending on how many repeats you make, your yarn choice and your hook choice you can vary the shape and length of this asymmetrical triangle shawl.

I recommend solid colors of yarn or slow gradient yarns if you want the pattern and lace details of the shawl to really look their best.

Recommended yarn is somewhere around a 3.0 – 4.5 mm hook size (around a D - G or a 3 – 7) for this shawl, but you can make it with other yarns and hooks too, depending on what look you’re after.
