♫ The Music ♫
This shawl was inspired by the music of Peter Gundry, an Australian musical artist whose modern Celtic and fantasy compositions reflect a complexity that translates so charmingly into knitted melody. The Dragon Charmer is part of his The Lost Book of Fantasy collection.

An amazing Celtic cable panel is the shining star of this piece;
3 sizes from neckerchief (bandana cowl) to full shawl.

The stitch patterns are charted only.

Directions are given for 3 sizes: a neck scarf (neckerchief / bandana cowl), small shawl and large shawl.

All sizes of this curved triangular shawl begin with just 4 sts. Increases are worked along one side only. The gorgeous Celtic cable will form a border along the right edge (as knit) of the triangle – use it as the upper layer as you wrap this shawl to show it in its full glory.

The upper edge of the shawl (C on the schematic image at left) is worked in a faux I-cord which puckers the work slightly, creating a wonderful fit across the shoulders. The edge of the cable panel is worked in a broken rib pattern; this pattern is continued across the final shawl edge, incorporating the live stitches for a seamless finish.

The smallest size has an added I-cord buttonhole loop and button sewn on to secure it at the back of the neck. A few stitches need to be sewn to secure the I cord button loop and the button.
