When I’m in costume at shows and don’t want to haul around my purse. I wear this cute little necklace bag that holds my car key, a few dollars, lipstick and a credit card. I made myself several of the bags in different colors with a variety of button themes. My favorite is a hand-made pewter dragon button, which goes without saying if you have seen any of my life sized dragon sculptures (www.ColettesGarden.com). I wear my bronze scaled necklace bag with a Celtic knot button when my husband competes in the Scottish Games. I have also put this bag on a chain as a small sporran bag to accessorize a Scottish kilt (sorry, not large enough to hold a flask). Directions are included to make a supporting rod from aluminum floral wire which is sewn into the front upper edge so the bag keeps its shape.
Finished size of the bag is 4 ½ long by 6 inches wide. These bags can be made with any length strap for necklace (22-24 inches), clutch purse (11 inches) or without a strap.
Uses 85 small scales (available at our store on Etsy). Jewelry pliers and wire cutters are helpful. One cute button is a great accent.
