November 27, 2021: Pattern has been updated to match my current standards. It’s not necessary to update your PDF unless you desire. If you have previously downloaded the pattern as a free copy, please just email me your old copy via the email address I hyperlink at the top of all patterns and I will send you a current copy.

This pattern has the appearance of single stitch cables, but it’s actually made up of increases and decreases! If you love the look of single cables, but hate knitting them, then this pattern is the one for you. The scale pattern travels down the leg, ending on the heel flap and top of the foot. Because the rest of the sock is worked in stockinette stitch, you are able to customize the length.

I wouldn’t recommend this pattern to someone new to socks, but if you’ve already knit a pair or two, you should be able to tackle this with some determination!

Sizes in Pattern:
• Child’s Large/Woman’s Small (approximately women’s shoe size US 5-7)
• Woman’s Medium (approximately women’s shoe size US 7.5-9)
• Woman’s Large/Men’s Small (approximately women’s shoe size US 9.5-10)
• The pattern would be easy to adapt in length.

Materials:
• Approximately 350-450 yards of sock weight yarn.
• (4) US size 1 Double Pointed Needles
• (4) US size 2 Double Pointed Needles
• Tapestry/Yarn Needle
