This pattern is very quick to make, but not for a beginner. The wings are part of the pattern.

For the top bit of the body you need to be able to knit on four needles, with not many stitches. Fitting the wings into the body is also a bit of a fiddle, but if you go slowly it can be done. If you make a few it gets easier.
