Draping Moss Cardigan
This oversized cardigan is constructed with the back panel first. Working top down you will increase on each row working towards the arms and then decrease under the arm, towards the hip. Front panels are then worked into the shoulder edges of the back panel and are constructed with a matching batwing slope under the arms. Smartly placed slip stitch rows narrow the arm opening, while still allowing for full bust coverage. The piece comes together with seaming the sides and adding a custom-length neckline border.
This pattern was designed to be oversized and airy with a lovely drape. The oversized nature will allow each size to fit a wide range of body types. The cardigan is built based on the natural hip measurement. For a 20% oversized fit similar to featured photos, follow the suggested oversized hip measurements above. Measurements with no positive ease are also given, which will result in a more shrug-like fit. You may also choose a size between a perfect fit and suggested oversized, for a custom fit!
