I originally made this bag in the really chunky yarn that Aldi releases a couple of times a year, in the mustard and cream colours. Its a fairly simple design, and starts with a large circle which is worked in the round and built up until the right size. It has eyelets around the top of the bag to thread the drawstring though and a circle flap to close over the top of the drawstring. There is also a small front pocket and then straps on the back to carry it on your pack. Apart from the drawstring it uses two magnetic bag clasps to close it. I chose to fully line this bag, but if you made it from Cotton, you could probably get away without doing so as it would probably hold up quite nicely.

I chose to make this bag using a knit effect which I really love, especially when combined with a slight pattern where the colours are switched over from main to contrasting. The contrasting colour is not only used as a boarder, but also for the pocket, strap and flap details. I have been using this particular bag for a while and its nice and roomy and perfect for a family day out. It can carry all the essentials, plus drinks and snacks for the kids and is really comfy to carry even for a whole day.
