The mitts are designed so you can either hide your thumb inside the mitt on super cold days, pulling the mitt up and scrunching it around your wrist, or wear them the usual way, so you have full dexterity for important things such as carrying your coffee on a brisk morning walk to work. They can be scrunched at the wrist or pulled up to the elbows.

Due to the needle size, either sport weight / 5ply or fingering / 4ply yarn will work just fine.

The pattern uses 1 skein of each colour chosen for both mitts - I used Citron and Natural Light Grey for the Blue Sky Alpaca Sport version. Barbara used 1 ball each of Majesty and Papura for the Zealana Kiwi Fingering version.
