This is the pattern to EXTEND the Meteorologist’s Dream blanket to then enable it to be used either as a longer blanket or as a temperature blanket. This is made up of 2 NEWLY DESIGNED sections of 8inch length to be added onto either end of the blanket.

This pattern is to be used in addition the pattern for the original blanket available here or to accompany the CAL which will start in January 2021 in this Facebook Group.

Please note that purchasing this pattern does NOT include the pattern for the central portion of the blanket.

Please note that purchasing this pattern extends the joint blanket 380+ rows. That is ONLY available on this page. (There is a smaller extension mentioned in the original pattern which is only up to 330 rows and therefore not suitable for making the blanket into a temperature blanket)

Materials for the extension parts only:
6-8 additional 100g DK yarn balls of background colour yarn, and 1 additional 100g DK yarn ball of white yarn for the pattern.

As a bonus

This pattern includes charts to record a year’s temperatures and associated coloured yarns, and tables for selecting your yarn and temperature ranges. There is also an example of the selections I used when creating the graphical representation. The examples in the images are variations of the temperatures from my birth year and hometown along with different colour selections.

Note that the amount of yarn needed per colour will depend wholly on the temperature fluctuations recorded throughout the year. Expect to use 1 ball of 100g DK yarn per 12 rows if using 4.5mm hook up to 1 ball of 100g DK yarn per 15 rows if using a 4mm hook.
