Spring is my favorite season. As soon as the long, dark, cold days of winter envelope me, I start dreaming of spring. I imagine the soft pinks, peaches and silvery blues of the predawn sky beckoning the sunrise and can practically hear the birds singing in my iris garden.

Carried away by the imagery, I then visualize the lush bearded iris blossoms standing tall amongst the dark green leaves, holding their heads up high in the warmth of the spring sunshine.
