Dressup Doll Malu is made as a friend to Dressup Dolls Elsa, Malaika and Killian and measures about 25 cm’s when I crochet her with a 2.0mm hook. When you go up a hooksize, she might be bigger, but proportions remain intact. This means gauge isn’t important.

The pattern for Malu is currently available in Dutch and US English

Amigurumi doll Malu is a crocheted doll with a removable skirt and necklace. She is made seamless, so no seaming parts afterwards. She can switch clothing with her friend Elsa and fits all of the extra outfits made for Elsa aswell. The name Malu is Hawaiian and means Protection and peace.

Yarn:

  • Scheepjes Softfun #2470 Skincolor
  • Scheepjes Stone Washed #825 Malachite
  • Scheepjes Stone Washed #829 Obsidian
  • Scheepjes River Washed #954 Congo
  • Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat #256 Cornelia Rose
  • Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat #411 Sweet Orange
  • Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat #253 Tropic

Hook:
This doll is crocheted with a 2.0mm hook and the suggested yarn above. It’s important to crochet tight enough, since you don’t want the fibrefill to show. Also don’t crochet to tightly it’ll be a strain on your wrists. If you crochet loosely, please go down a size. If you crochet tightly go up a size. The proportions of this girl stay intact.

Gauge
In single crochet: 15 sc x 15 rows measures 5x5 cm, using Scheepjes Softfun and a 2.0mm hook.
Gauge, however is not important for this pattern. Different hooks and different yarn give you a different size for your doll, but the proportions stay intact.

Notions
Needle for weaving ends, scissors, fibrefill, stitchmarker
