This was the first ever hat I made about 4 years ago using scrap yarn. The pattern still recommends Red Heart yarn, but there are so many other acrylics out there so feel free to ignore that.

This is a good way for beginners to practice hat decreases and a little bit of duplicate stitch, or just for anyone to use their scrap stash!
