ABOUT THE PATTERN
Droppe is a triangular shawl covered by droplets that create a ­beautiful embossed fabric. It is the ideal pattern for those ­beautiful skeins you got at your local farm shop, from the sheep of your ­neighbours or at the farmers market in the next village.

YARN CHOICE
In recent years, focus has more and more been on using your local resources and products and supporting your local farmers. In the Swedish countryside, more and more farm shops pop up, offering products made from their own animals where you know the animals have been treated well.

Droppe is perfect for your local yarn - not too much going on but still enough to be exciting and to showcase the yarn. The sample shawl is knit with yarn from Swedish leicester sheep, a breed with luscious and very shiny white locks. Since it doesn’t have crimp, the yarn tends to be a little heavy but extremely lustruous! The pattern will work for any type of wool yarn, so I recommend going to your local sheep owner and buying the prettiest skeins you can find!

YARN
The sample shawl is knit in a locally produced Swedish leicester yarn from Ullstationen i Odensala: 3.5 skeins (350g), ­180­­­ m/100g. However, this yarn is more comparable to a heavy sport weight yarn of approx. 250 m/100g. Estimate at least 600 m for your shawl in your chosen yarn, but the pattern is very adaptable.
