This pattern was inspired by the gorgeous white beanie the Duchess of Cambridge wore skiing the slopes of Norway.

It is knit in the round on 8mm and 9mm circular needles using the magic loop technique. This is an easy method of working with circular needles which you can easily learn by watching a quick video tutorial, it is a great skill for any knitter to have, and even beginners can learn it!

The beanie uses one ball of Lion Brand, Wool-Ease Thick and Quick, 170gm, 97m which has a yarn gauge of 9stx12 rows over 10cm using 9mm needles. A bright white yarn is preferable if you are wanting a similar look to Kate’ beanie. Remaining yarn can be used for a 8.5cm pom pom.

This pattern knits to a regular ladies size, and should fit most women.
