FINISHED SIZE:

Each dumpling measures approximately 3 inches tall × 3 inches wide (7.5 cm × 7.5 cm) when made with the recommended yarn and hook.

Finished measurements may vary depending on your yarn, hook size, stitch tension, and stuffing.

LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY: Easy

You should be comfortable reading written crochet patterns, working in continuous rounds, making a magic circle, crocheting basic single crochet increases and decreases, stuffing amigurumi, gathering an opening, and adding simple embroidered details.

YARN USED: Worsted-weight (4) yarn.

The pictured dumplings were made with Loops & Threads Skinny Chenille yarn. Each dumpling requires approximately 32 yards (29 m). You will need additional yarn for the basket, and the total amount required will depend on how many dumplings you make.

MATERIALS AND TOOLS:

• 3.50 mm (US E/4) crochet hook, or the size needed to meet gauge
• Worsted-weight (4) yarn
• One pair of 15–18 mm safety eyes per dumpling
• Dark, pink, and white embroidery-thread scraps
• Polyester fiberfill
• Stitch marker
• Scissors
• Embroidery needle
• Tapestry needle
• Optional plastic pellets and a securely enclosed inner pouch for added sensory weight

SAFETY NOTE:

Safety eyes and plastic pellets may present a choking hazard and are not recommended for babies or children under age three. For a child-safe version, embroider the eyes and omit the weighted pellets.
