Dunas Shirt
The shirt is worked sideways.
The pattern includes instructions for a more challenging seamless version, as well as an easier seamed version suitable for beginner knitters.
It also offers guidance on how to adjust the sleeves for extra length.
SIZES
XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL are designed to fit a bust circumference of 71-76 (81-86) 91.5-96.5 (101.5-106.5) 111.5-117 (122-127) 132-137 cm / 28-30 (32-34) 36-38 (40-42) 44-46 (48-50) 52-54 inches.

The shirt is designed to have approximately 20-25 cm / 8–10 inches of positive ease in the smaller sizes, gradually decreasing in the larger sizes.
GAUGE
27 stitches and 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches on 2.5 mm (US 1.5) needles, worked in rows or rounds in stockinette stitch, measured after blocking.
MATERIALS
Yarn: Fingering (14 wpi) yarn.
Sandnes Tynn Line, 50 g = 220 m, or any other yarn or yarn combination that meets the gauge listed below. For sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL, you will need approx. 200 (200) 220 (220) 250 (270) 300 grams of the main color, and 50 (50) 70 (70) 85 (85) 100 grams of the contrast color.
Needles and Notions
2.5 mm / US 1.5 (40 cm / 16”) circular needles for the sleeves.
Two sets of 2.5 mm / US 1.5 (80 cm / 32”) circular needles for the body if knitting the seamless version.
For the seamed version, only one set is needed.
Also required: stitch markers, stitch holders, and any other tools you normally use when knitting.
CONSTRUCTION
The shirt is worked sideways, from sleeve to center.
You’ll begin by knitting the left side: first the sleeve is worked in the round, then the body (front and back together) is worked flat.
Next, you’ll knit the right side in the same way.
The two halves are then joined at the center using a three-needle bind-off, leaving an opening for the neckline. The neckline is finished with a basic bind-off, while the sleeve edges are finished with an I-cord bind-off for a clean and structured look.
For beginners, the pattern includes an optional seamed version: both halves are worked flat in rows and then seamed along the sides and sleeves.
If you’d like longer sleeves, there’s a note how to adjust them.
Keep in mind that if you want to make the sleeves longer, you’ll need more yarn.
