Years ago I visited Milan with a great bunch of girls and we had the most fantastic time exploring the fascinating city. We were lucky enough to be able to climb onto the roof of il Duomo di Milano, the most magnificent cathedral in the middle of the city. The twisted cabled rib on Duomo Beanie reminds me of the towering spires and the intricate architecture of il Duomo.

You will begin knitting your Duomo Beanie from the crown and work in stocking stitch as you increase to the stitches you need for the twisted cables.

The finished length is 17.5 (20.5, 23) cm / 7 (8.25, 9.25) in from crown to brim.

22 sts x 30 rows = 10 cm / 4 in over stocking stitch on a 4.5 mm (US 7) needle.
Matching your gauge to the pattern is crucial to obtaining fit. This pattern is mostly worked in twisted rib, so that is the ideal gauge to match to.
