To produce a geometric shape that she calls a “fauxbius,” Laura Nelkin started with a provisional cast-on, worked a series of short-row blocks to create a rectangle, put a half twist in the piece, then grafted the ends together to form a moebius strip. By working the short-row blocks in a combination of stockinette and garter stitch punctuated with eyelets, there is no “right” or “wrong” side. Laura finished the piece with a narrow eyelet band and used an elastic decrease bind-off to prevent the edge from drawing in.
