From the book:

Holland is filled with colors of dark blue water, bright blue skies and lush green pastures. To my surprise, it is the exact same color combination in the Japanese yarn Noro, and I used it to give this skirt a Dutch touch. I used short rows to create the pleats, which also divide the colors beautifully between each section. That shape and the vertical lines in the design have a slimming effect, and because the skirt is knit lengthwise, it hangs beautifully. The wide elastic waistband makes it a dream to wear. Best of all, even after you’ve been sitting in it for a while, the skirt won’t lose its shape.

Note: Pattern specifies Silk Garden in #8 colorway.
