Learn how to crochet a cute, oversized bow that is easy and beginner friendly worked in simple double crochet stitches. This bow is perfect for scraps and looks great in stripes or solid colors.

Crocheted bows are such a fun project that you can use in a variety of ways, similarly to how you would a crocheted applique. You can attach a bow to an alligator clip or a pin. Either way, the bow would be a cute accent on a tote bag, throw pillow, hat or cowl. Alternatively, you can sew the bow on to make a more permanent fixture, such as one a crocheted blanket.

A bow would look great attached to a wreath or basket, hung from twine and used as an ornament, strung together to make a garland and so much more! You can even change up the weight of yarn used to make a smaller or larger bow.

Materials:

• Small Amount of Worsted Weight Yarn
• I9/5.5mm Hook
• Tapestry Needle & Scissors

Material Notes:
I used Premier Yarns Basix Worsted in White, Sunny and Goldfish for the Candy Corn themed bow, Black, Dark Purple and Spring Green for the Witch themed bow and Violet for the solid colored bow.

This bow would look great in 3 colors or a solid color, like I did for mine, in 2 colors for more of a color block or even 6 different colors for a scrappy, striped look.

I like a heavier worsted weight yarn for these bows, like the one I’ve used, Bernat Super Value or Red Heart Super Saver, but you can easily use your favorite yarn.

If you have a lot of thinner yarns in your stash, you could hold multiple strands together to equal the thickness of the worsted weight yarn, like 2 strands of lightweight #3 yarn, 4 strands of sport weight #2 yarn, etc. Laceweight threads can often be added in without changing your gauge and are a great opportunity to add a metallic shine. You can also use a different weight yarn all together with the respective crochet hook size to get a different sized bow.
